SEED is part of USAID’s investment in Trade and Investment Promotion in Egypt (TIPE) Bilateral Agreement, which was signed between USAID and the Government of Egypt (GOE).
Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the engines of growth, development and sustainability both locally and internationally Entrepreneurship paves the future of businesses worldwide creating numerous employment opportunities and sustainable growth.

USAID’s SEED is delighted to support Egyptian MSMEs and Entrepreneurs, particularly Egypt’s Women and Youth, in their quest for business success. We work with a broad group of capable partners in both Public and Private sectors to help make this happen.

Chief of Party – Matthew Lovick

 Matthew Lovick has 31 years of senior management experience as a Regional Director, Country Director, Chief of Party and Team Leader in large multi-donor financed programs focused on civil society development, democracy, governance, alternative livelihoods, agricultural development, youth programming, small business development, community revitalization, infrastructure development, development finance, market development, humanitarian response, value chain development and M4P approaches.

He has combined expertise in citizen participation, local NGO/Community Based Organization Development, cooperative development, community mobilization, municipal service delivery, employment generation, infrastructure development, large scale mixed use real estate development, commercial bank and financial institution liaison, community credit programs, small enterprise development, environmental awareness, conflict resolution, HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns, emergency/humanitarian response, adult education and urban regeneration.

Mr. Lovick is an experienced manager of bi- and multinational donor funded programs including rapid program start up, contractor oversight, administration logistics, large scale procurement, budgeting, finance and compliance. He has managed budgets of more than $ 265 million and supervised technical and program staff of over 1,600 people. He has country experience in Azerbaijan, Bosnia, Croatia, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Haiti, Hungary, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Liberia, Lithuania, Mali, Morocco, Niger, the Palestinian Territories, Poland, Romania, Russia, Senegal, Serbia, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
